Clearview Counseling Services, Inc. provides structured mental health skill-building training designed to help individuals achieve and sustain independence while maintaining community stability. Our Mental Health Skill-Building Services equip individuals aged 21 and older with the tools to develop emotional stability, behavioral control, and self-actualization.
Our core training areas include:
- Developing functional skills and appropriate behaviors to promote overall health, safety, and emotional well-being.
- Enhancing daily living abilities, such as personal hygiene, clothing care, grocery shopping, meal preparation, housekeeping, and work-related organization for job retention.
- Supporting medication management through strategies to prevent missed doses, advocate for proper care, and track dosage adjustments and potential side effects.
- Encouraging overall well-being by monitoring physical health, nutrition, and fitness to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for services, individuals must exhibit a clinical need resulting from a mental, behavioral, or emotional condition that significantly impacts their ability to manage daily life activities.
Eligibility Criteria for Individuals 21 and Older:
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Have a documented Axis I diagnosis, which may include:
- Schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders
- Major Depressive Disorder – Recurrent
- Bipolar I or Bipolar II
- Any other Axis I mental health condition formally diagnosed by a physician within the past year
- Require individualized training to develop essential life skills, such as:
- Managing symptoms effectively
- Following prescribed psychiatric and medication treatment plans
- Enhancing social skills and utilizing personal support systems
- Practicing personal hygiene, meal preparation, and financial management
- Have a history of one or more of the following mental health interventions:
- Previous psychiatric hospitalization
- Participation in a residential or non-residential crisis stabilization program
- Engagement in a Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT)
- Placement in a psychiatric residential treatment facility (RTC Level C)
- Issuance of a Temporary Detention Order (TDO)
- Prescription of antipsychotic, mood-stabilizing, or antidepressant medications within the 12 months preceding the assessment
Eligibility for Individuals Under 21:
Individuals younger than 21 must meet all of the above-listed criteria and must either currently reside in an independent living arrangement or be in the process of transitioning to one within six months.
